A Compilation of Works

Pier

Port San Luis Pier is a piece of vernacular architecture in San Luis Obispo. Our first year at Cal Poly we studied the existing pier and how it relates to the four principles of music: Rhythm, Structure (or Instrumentation), Intensity, and Movement.

Using our observations and conclusions form these studies, my group mates and I composed a musical piece that represented the pier and the ocean. From this, we abstracted drawings and created study models of a remodeled entrance to the pier.

This is the finished product for a remodel of the Port San Luis Pier in Avila beach, California.
